About Us
Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (अखिल भारतीय वनवासी कल्याण आश्रम) was founded by Shri Ramakant Keshav Deshpande (also known as Balasaheb Deshpande – बाळासाहेब देशपांडे), on 26th December 1952 at Jashpur in Madhya Pradesh (presently in Chhattisgarh) by enrolling 13 children of local Janjatis to start a hostel project. Encouraged with the success of various projects for the welfare of Janjatis over the period, from 1978, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram extended its work in every state of India having Janjati population.
Today, the Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram is extensively working in all states and territories of India in 14 different Aayams (आयाम) across the three categories of Seva (सेवा), Jagran (जागरण) and Sanghatan (संघटन).

Shri Ramchandra Kharadi ji belongs to the Bheel Janajati in Kharbar village, Udaipur, Rajasthan. He has been associated with the Kalyan Aashram in 2003 when the Aashram Bhavan was being constructed in Dungarpur. He was selected as the President of Rajasthan unit in 2016. He was reappointed on the same post in 2019.
Shri Kharadi was appointed as the President of Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram in 2020 after the unfortunate demise of Shri Jagdevram ji. He is the 3rd President of Kalyan Ashram after Late Balasaheb Deshpande (1st President) and Late Jagdevram ji Urav (2nd President).
